What are the benefits of having a workout Success Partner?

Who’s is your PIC? (Partner in Crime)

OK, for those of you concerned about the title of this blog post, this isn’t about finding someone to be a Bonnie to your Clyde and running a violent crime spree!
But it IS about the power of partnerships!

This week I celebrate my eight year wedding anniversary with my lovely wife, Kelly. While reminiscing about the past 8 years of crazy adventures with my ‘lil Cajun’, I was taken back to our first round of P90X.   We were married in 2003, and P90X made its debut in 2004. We were both familiar with Beachbody and their products having already gone thru the P90X predecessor, Power 90. However, when I began to see ads and previews for this new program on the Beachbody website, I knew this workout was a whole different animal than Power 90. There was no catchy infomercial with thousands of YouTube success stories. There was only this intimidating black packaging, a few teaser clips, and the question:

Are you ready to ‘BRING IT’!?

I remember thinking one thing: “This thing scares the $&!* out of me! I HAVE to try it!”

I really don’t recall the conversation I had with Kelly to get her to agree to attempt this beast with me, but I am very thankful she agreed!

We made a deal to workout together every morning at 6am before Kelly went to work. We quickly realized the big jump from Power 90 to P90X. Even though I was out of shape when I started Power 90, most of the moves were things I had done before: jogging in place, jumping jacks, pushups, etc. However, Day 1 of P90X was Chest and Back which had us doing things neither of us had attempted before. Things like overhand pullups and clap pushups!

I truly believe if either of us would have tried this program on our own, by Day 3 it would have been repacked and returned for a refund (or collecting dust on a shelf!). It was scary and we were both awful at it (especially the 1st day of Yoga!). But instead of giving up, we were there to encourage, support, and even laugh together at our struggles.

During our first 30 days, we weren’t wise enough to know the effectiveness of the P90X Results and Recovery Formula! The soreness that set in was pretty substantial. That 5:30am alarm was a steady reminder that it was time to get up to push play again. But if you want an amazing example of the power of partnership, here it is…It never failed when one of us was really struggling to get going in the morning, and hitting the snooze button was SO tempting; the other person was motivated and excited to workout that morning.
That yin-yang of support, motivation, encouragement solved the issue of inconsistency or getting over the ‘I don’t feel like it’ excuse that pops up with all of us!

I am very thankful for my PIC. I know the accomplishments and blessings I have experienced are direct results of her unwavering support! Thank you, Kelly!

Maybe you don’t have your own PIC, or support group of any kind. The ‘want to’ is there, if only you had someone to believe in you and speak life & encouragement into you!

If you are ready to be your own living/breathing success story, but are just lacking the support to achieve it, then I want to be that support for you!

If you are ready to partner with me to see the results you desire and deserve, leave you info below and one of our staff members will be happy to set up a consultation time to get you on your road to results!

I agree that a support partner for anything you want to take seriously is so important.   Love the pic you chose.
