Where do you draw the line?
Sometimes you’re going to be in a season of your business or your fitness where you give up life balance for a certain amount of time. You go hard for 6 weeks. But you know that those 6 weeks ends and while you’re working for it, you’re breaking glass ceilings. I share with my family and friends when I’m planning on going hard during a season of “bunker mode” so they know and can be prepared for my absence. But it’s those deep dives of hard focus working towards a goal that I took are still paying off in spades.
Don’t feel bad if your friends and even family try to tear you down during this time. When you go above and beyond, it causes other people to examine their own mediocrity. It makes them uncomfortable. This is normal and human and really important to be compassionate about. I’m still friends with all of my friends who chose to criticize these times in my life because I know it was just illuminating what they were unhappy about in their own lives.
