Stop making excuses & get started today!
After a quick Beachody On Demand Insanity workout outside on the Katy Trail in Dallas, TX, I had a thought.
Do you have an all or nothing mentality?
How many times have I heard, “I don’t want to start that workout until I can really go all in…” or “I need to wait until life slows down so I can focus on XYZ…” or my favorite, “I don’t want to let you or myself down, Jimmy, so I’m going to wait until…”
I hate to say it, but this all or nothing mentality isn’t noble. It’s another excuse. There will always be a vacation, a wedding, a holiday in the middle of your month-long commitment to a new workout program. There will always be a football or basketball game in the middle of your new clean-eating program.
But what about the other days of the week? The days surrounding the holidays? You cannot wait for everything to be perfect before you get started.
A little bit of something is better than a whole lotta nothin’!
It’s time to get over perfection and go for BETTER. If you can show up a little bit BETTER than you did yesterday, and keep that pattern going, sooner than later you’ll land where you want to be. Every workout won’t be ideal, every meal won’t be balanced, but that doesn’t mean you should stop and wait until it can all be what you see on TV! News flash: it will never be perfect.
Today is just as good as tomorrow!
