Tips to Stay on Track When It Gets Tough
I haven’t always been fit and I still don’t love working out, but one day I looked at myself in the mirror and asked myself, “Who’s going to love this?” It was one of the worst moments of my life, but it became my reason for change over 10 years ago.
If you don’t change, what are the consequences? Fill in that blank. “If I don’t change now…” and then finish that sentence with the consequences a year from now, two years, three years…
- Do you have a workout plan? Or are you just blindly trying different exercises or spending hours at the gym without much direction.
- Do you have a nutrition plan? Are you just trying to “eat healthier?” Or do you have a plan to change the way you nourish your body?
- Support! Do you have an encouraging community? Did you give someone else permission to hold you accountable to your workouts and your nutrition?
- Rewards. Figure out your rewards system. Do you want to look good naked? Get flirted with?! Make money? (It’s possible.) Inspire someone else? Figure out what your own reward system is.
When I started a workout business, I stayed way more focused on my own fitness! That’s my reward.
I’m looking for people who can take STEPS, not people who say they’re ready and then want to watch training videos and collect recipes. You have to take action. Things change outside of your comfort zone by taking step-by-step action.
Do you have skin in the game? When I became a Beachbody coach, I couldn’t afford it. It pissed me off. But I knew I needed to get some skin in the game if I was going to change my life. So I did it. And that was 10 years ago.
What do you wish you started 10 years ago?
