PAINT THE FENCE DANIEL-SAN
This comes from a message I shared with my private mentoring group, but wanted to share it with all of you in case you needed an extra dose of motivation today.
Much of what we do in our professional lives doesn’t pay immediate dividends. It’s what I’ve taken to calling “painting the fence”, because it’s so easy for us to focus on getting the big results we can’t control rather than the things in our control.
The best thing you can do for your business, and your sanity, is to show up and paint the fence every day and that means focusing only on the things you can control. You control what you put into your body, you control your workouts, you control sharing your story on social media, and how much personal development you do. You control how often you interact with your followers and the message you’re putting out into the world.
We can’t control whether or not someone says “yes” to us. We can’t control whether or not someone will purchase a product or sign up for a newsletter or video series. All we can do is put our message out there and let the people decide whether or not they like what we’re offering. If they do, great! If they don’t, that’s fine too. You’re not doing anything wrong and it doesn’t make you bad at what you do. It’s out of your control so let go.
Show up. Paint the fence. Focus on each brush stroke. Have an eye for the details. Take pride in what you do. Before you know it, you’ll be a Business Black Belt!
