How to Know When to Replace Your Workout Shoes
When you workout, you want your muscles to fail (just a little bit). That’s how they get stronger! Your shoes, on the other hand, can’t bounce after a day or two of rest. The second the sole comes flying off or your toe pops through the top of your shoe, stick a fork in it Sally. They’re done. Really, you shouldn’t even get to this point. Shoes have a shelf life and pushing yours beyond their can be hurting your feet rather than supporting them.
Once they’re done, they’re done. Use them past their “expiration point” and they may be doing you more harm than good.
How long will your shoes last? That depends solely (heh, get it?) on the type of training you’re using them for. Straight weight lifting in the gym? They’ll last a long time. Doing high impact training with copious amounts of foot to floor exertions? You’ll rotate shoes out each season. The bottom line is this, you get what you pay for. I know, I know. It’s hard to justify paying triple digits for shoes, but your feet will thank you. Those more expensive workout shoes are typically built with higher quality materials that last longer while staying supportive.
16 Ways to Live a Healthy Life
It’s no secret that pets help their owners live longer, happier, healthier lives. Especially dogs. Cats just sit there silently judging your life and fashion decisions. (They’re unimpressed on both counts if you’re wondering.) Dogs help you get more exercise by going on walks, hikes, and for a nice jog around the dog park and they also have the added benefit of lowering stress. How can you not help but calm down and smile when your dog comes careening around the corner with their tail wagging so hard it knocks them off balance as soon as you walk in the door?!

Whatever your reasons may be with working out or losing weight, there’s always an ultimate goal in mind and sometimes you need a little motivation along the way to push you past a funk. I don’t want to ruin the story for you, but take my word for it, it’s a good one.
