How to Get Rid of a Cold

How to Get Rid of a ColdNo matter how hard you fight it, you’re going to get a cold this winter. It’s unavoidable just like taxes, it’s going to happen. The kicker is that you can do a few things to kick it quickly so it doesn’t linger and make your weight loss journey harder than it has to be. You’ve probably heard a few of these before from your parents back when you were a kid, but these still hold true to this day.

“Most colds run their course in 3-5 days,” Dr. Helmers says. “If it’s going much beyond that — or if you have a fever, chest congestion, intensely sore throat, or facial pain — then it’s appropriate to be examined.”

Staying hydrated will soothe your scratchy throat, thin out your mucus, and help your body fire on all cylinders. Eating healthy foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals so you don’t compound your cold symptoms and end up feeling worse. Adjust your workout, if you’re up for one, and listen to your body throughout. If you start to feel off, you should cut it short and plant yourself on the couch. Get plenty of sleep to give your body all the time it needs to heal up. Take plenty of cold meds & remedies like ibuprofen, acetaminophen, gargling salt water, and adding honey to your fluids to ease throat irritation.

Grilled Veggie QuesadillaWe all love tasty foods and if you’re down South, Mexican food is part of your diet. (I’m a fiend for fajitas and quesadillas.)
