Lets Talk About The 3 Day Refresh.
Coach Jimmy here, with my beautiful wife Kelly. Normally we have a lot of production value to our videos but not today; we are coming to you after a very long day of travel and a week in Las Vegas. We wanted to talk about the 3-Day refresh. With a week in Vegas, have we eaten very well?
Kelly: Haha, we have eaten!
Jimmy: We drank a lot of good adult beverages, and we were just in Vegas for a week and so you know that can be kind of a toxic environment. While a lot of fun, it was toxic. Well, Beachbody just came out with this 3 day refresh, so we have been talking about how we feel gross and a little bloated. So, we are starting this sucker tomorrow to see if it works, and if it is something we want to do. Are you excited about it?
Kelly: Yeah, I am excited. I know we need it with the toxic chemicals we breathe in, the food we have eaten, and the not so smart choices we made. So, I am just ready to start fresh and really refresh. I want to go back to a zero level. So, whenever we start our new program, after this, we will have a good base level to begin with.
Jimmy: So we are going to take some pictures tonight that we don’t want to take – bellies out. And just watch out progress over the next 3 days. We are just going to give you a very honest review of this thing and how much we like it. Are we starving? Do we like the shakes? Is this something we think anybody can do? We look forward to sharing with you what we can do. And hopefully we can drop a few of these vacation pounds and feel a little better in 3 days, so stay tuned.
Half way Through Day One of the 3-Day Refresh!
Jimmy: Hey, Coach Jimmy here, so we are half way through day one of the 3 day refresh! This morning I had my fruit, and my tasty vegan chocolate Shakeology which they just redid the formulation on, which I like so much now. Then I had my fiber sweep midway through the morning. I got a cup of green tea as well, for my little caffeine boost, to replace my coffee, and now I am going to try for the very first time, the 3-day refresh vanilla.
I have been drinking Shakeology for four years
I have been drinking Shakeology for like four years; this is a 20 gram of protein, all vegan protein shake. So this is my first time trying this, so I thought I would do all this on camera here for you. There are 10 ounces of filtered water in my blender. Let’s see what this stuff tastes like. The cool thing about this, opposed to other detoxes or fast or whatever, is that I get lunch with this too. I also get a snack with this. So, it is not just a shake and nothing else.
*Takes Drink* Wow! That is good, and I am not a big vanilla guy. It is thick, and I can see how it is filling as far as the protein and fiber and stuff that is in it. So I am going to sip on this and have my lunch. I wanted to let you know, so far so good. Midway through day one, I haven’t felt hungry or had any caffeine withdrawal headaches or anything like that. So far, so good. We will keep you posted on the 3-Day Refresh.
Day 2 Of The 3-Day Refresh
Hey, Coach Jimmy and Kelly here again, and we are on day two of the 3-Day refresh. How do you like it so far? As I enjoy my chocolate vegan Shakeology.
Kelly: I really like it. You know the other cleanses we have done in the past, they make you feel like you need to stick a needle in your arm and inject juice into you.
Jimmy: Right! How is your energy level been?
Kelly: Ok, I think it has been better than I thought it would be. We just got off of traveling and so jet lag and exhaustion play a big role. But, as far as regular energy sustained throughout the day, I was really pleasantly surprised. I wasn’t as hungry as I thought I would be. And the way they spread it out, you are eating or having something you are ingesting every couple of hours. Even on some of the meals, there is like a shake and a snack, so I just stretched that out as opposed to having it all at one time.
I think it is funny; it is like my body has its own little alarm clock. Every time it is time for me to eat, without fail, my stomach will get a grumbly, and I am like, oh it is exactly the time.
Jimmy: It goes right along with the schedule. You never think, “oh my stomach is grumbly,” or “oh I have to wait three more hours before I can have food.”
Day 3 Of the 3-day Refresh
Jimmy: Ok, we are on day 3 of the 3-Day refresh. Lets look at some of the hype that has gone on so far about this. One of the biggest concerns I hear is about this little packet right here called fiber sweep, and I understand. Anything with the word fiber, people are thinking two things: “I bet it taste like crap,” and “do I have to sprint to the bathroom the minute I chug it.” Well, I will answer the second question first – no. No bathroom sprinting has gone on.
The trick
There is a trick. It doesn’t taste horrible, but I wouldn’t sip it on a patio in the afternoon during happy hour either. So, here is the trick to making your fiber sweep taste fantastic. What I do is I have my little tiny blender. I empty the contents and get my 10 ounces of filtered water. I put it in, and I put a couple drops of Stevia – this is NuNaturals Stevia. It gives it just a little sweet flavor. The trick is,blending it and not sipping on it, but drinking it pretty quickly instead. Where a lot of people were having issues is the clumpy kind of a chunky taste. You know like; fiber tends to.
By putting it in a blender, it isn’t chunky, and it just goes down like water. The Stevia gives it a kind of a little bit of sweet flavor, and it already has a kind of lemony flavor to it as well. Like I said, I am on day 3, and I am down four pounds. I just spent all of last week in Vegas eating and drank my face off. The fact I could see my abs this morning, when I woke up got me pretty excited. I went to a spin class this morning, too, so energy is up. Last night I got a little hungry, so basically I made my salad just a little bigger than the dinner recipe. So far so good. I have been happy with the results, and this is the third day. I am excited to see the final results tomorrow.
The Final Results of the 3-Day Refresh
Jimmy: Hey we did it! We are done!
Kelly: Woohoo!
Jimmy: 3-Day Refresh, refreshed! This is the morning of, and we took some pictures that we will show you here in just a second. Kelly, what are your thoughts?
Kelly: You know I was pleasantly surprised. I am a tiny person, and so I wasn’t looking to lose a lot of weight. But I was looking to get rid of all the bloat that we put into our bodies during Vegas.
Jimmy: Yeah, Vegas last week was pretty intense. I think there was a time we had cupcakes for breakfast.
Kelly: Hey you know what, that is what vacation is all about.
Jimmy: Right, so I am down about 5 pounds, which again, neither of us was looking to lose a lot of weight. But, as you can tell from our before photos, there was some bloat and some gross going on there, but I feel much leaner. In fact, you will see in my pictures, I can kind of see my abs. I don’t know if the pictures do justice to what I can see in the mirror this morning, though. I was excited; I was like whoa! I just felt lean, and my energy is up, I just went and took another spin class this morning and rocked that thing. I was concerned initially because you are on a calorie deficit for three days. But after that first day my energy was fine. It was a bit of adjustment that first day.
Kelly: I think that could have been just jet lag and playing catch up from lack of sleep in Vegas.
Jimmy: Why don’t you tell people about the food real quick
Kelly: I like it. We do get to eat, and it is not just juice, it is real food. So, for lunch I did a vanilla fresh shake and then I also did cucumbers with hummus. Then, for my snack, I did celery with nut butter. The dinner was my favorite. I am addicted to roast asparagus and vegetable broth, along with the vanilla fresh shake. So, it was a good amount of food.
Jimmy: I love that each of the meals, whether it was lunch or dinner, give you some real food and a shake. I would spread those out a little bit, having the meal part of it first, like the veggie and the hummus, or the avocado or whatever, then about 30 or 45 minutes later, if I was still kind of hungry, I would have that shake. Asher here also ate some of the recipes and loved it. He loves some of the veggies and things we did, and big salads. So, overall, we enjoyed it. This is something I am looking to do maybe, I don’t know, about once a month, or at least once every couple of months I bet. Maybe once a quarter. It is just a good way to refresh if you are coming off of vacation, or if you are prepping right before an event like a pool party or a cruise or something. I highly recommend doing the 3-day Refresh.
