Invest 20 Seconds. It may just change your life!

by Coach Jimmy Hays Nelson This past weekend I had the privilege of being asked to emcee an event in Dallas for over 500 Beachbody Coaches.  If that wasn’t cool enough, the special guest was Beachbody CEO Carl Daikeler.  If it wasn’t for Carl, INSANITY, P90X, and SHAKEOLOGY would have never existed! As you can see from the picture above, this ‘Super Saturday Event’ was over 500 people strong!  As I looked out into the audience I was overwhelmed by all the different types of people I saw staring back at me.   Young and fit and full of energy.  Others who had found Beachbody in their 40’s and 50’s and have a pep in their step that makes them the envy of their contemporaries.  I was also blessed to see and speak with people just starting their weight loss journey who shared with me that they know they have a…

Who You Surround Yourself with Will Ultimately Determine Where You End Up!

by Coach Jimmy Hays Nelson “You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with” – Jim Rohn This is one of my favorite quotes and comes from one of my favorite speakers.  I was reminded of it last weekend.  My wife Kelly and I hosted a group of our top Beachbody Coaches on our team, The Crew, in New Orleans.  Not only was it amazing to spend time with these ‘leaders in the making’, we were also blessed to have four top Coaches from other organizations join us as our special guests. Dave and Monica Ward flew out from their home in San Diego.  They shared amazing tips on how they went from lawyer and school teacher, respectively, to earning over a million dollars in their current business. We also had the privilege of learning from Mike and Kelley Ryan.  This amazing couple just a…

How to Get Motivated to Exercise in 3 Simple Steps

By Coach Jimmy Hays Nelsonmo·ti·va·tion – the act or an instance of motivating,  or providing with a reason to act in a certain way I used to think people misinterpreted the word motivation.  They’d say, “I will start working out when I get motivated.”  And I would always think that if they had the ‘want to’ then that in itself should be their motivation.  But looking at the definition, it seems that the people that lack motivation really are saying that don’t have a big enough reason to get started. So, using my pattern during my 100 pound weight loss journey, I want to show you how to get motivated to exercise.  It really just comes down to 3 simple steps. 1.  Identify Your Specific Why What I mean by that is really identifying why you want to start a program like INSANITY or P90X.  So many people just give…

One Day Maybe

by Kelly Songy Nelsongy Saturday morning, Jimmy and I found ourselves kid-free for a few hours!  Asher went to play with his Nana and Gramps which allowed us to get the house straightened, do laundry, weekly food prep and workout!  I was in our closet changing into my workout clothes when I noticed a box at the top of our closet.  I call this box my “one day maybe” box.  With pregnancy and then now post baby, I’ve gained and lost 59 pounds, so I have a box of clothes that one day maybe I’ll fit back into. Just for kicks, I decided to pull the box down.  I figured it would give me motivation for my workout!  In the box were three pencil skirts that I used to wear when I worked for a hedge fund in NYC.  Super sassy skirts that I was so bummed to grow out…

Fitness Motivation – How an Action Movie Could Save Your Life!

by Jimmy Hays Nelson During today’s blog post you are going to need to bare with me a little, and just know a few lil curious things about me.   Contrary to popular opinion, I do not pop out of bed every morning thrilled about doing my workout, nor do I constantly crave my clean diet that consists of a lot of chicken, sweet potatoes, and veggies.  I love what all those things have done for my body, but I have to find creative ways to stay inspired and motivated to Dig Deep every day.  I know this is a big shocker to all of you, but guess what … I am not a fitness Super Hero! One unique place I can usually count on to jump start my fitness motivation is going to the movies.  That may be a bit of a surprise since when you walk into a movie…
